RUMBI:
Project overview
In beginning the skyscape project, our aim was to become as familiar with the site and wider context as possible in order to fully inform the phenomenological study of the Clifton campus. This information would eventually inspire artistic impressions which together with my colleague Will, we will merge into a photorealistic panorama of a campus landscape. The final outcome will be an informative piece of artwork with the panorama image as the canvas, combined with and the final outcome will be imported into a planetarium software (Stellarium) so that the software users will be able to access and use this for their astronomical studies.
Into the archives
To begin familiarising ourselves with the site, Will and I went to source some historical information to find out about the Clifton campus; as the university on the site is relatively young compared to the surrounding village, it was extremely fascinating to find out about the changes that have occurred has gone through rapid and nonetheless interesting development over the past 60-70 years.
My quest for local historical documentation lead me to the Clifton library archives, in which they had a neat file cabinet full to the brim with archival information such as newspaper cuttings, photographs, maps, articles etc. all documenting the ever
